Honeybee Best Seller Buzz

Kenneth Elmer - Tuesday, June 27, 2017

I've gotten away from the blog again although it hasn't been a full week. I'm finding it a bit of a challenge but I suspected it would be. I will get back to writing more in depth posts about our Zazzle experience shortly. For now, I'm pleased to post an item that has been our best seller. When you're not too busy check out this honeybee products collection. It's all the buzz  Click Here...

How our Zazzle Stores are Organized

Kenneth Elmer - Tuesday, June 20, 2017

It would seem prudent to have a plan to organize your new Zazzle store. There is a fair amount of contention about the proper way to go about this. Seems it breaks down into two schools of thought. A) Create and name new categories by product type or B) Create and name new categories by design title .  Click Here...

How we got started with Zazzle

Kenneth Elmer - Monday, June 19, 2017

As stated in the previous blog entry, we are working with Zazzle as designers.  I suppose that doesn't mean much unless you're familiar with the other ways to work with Zazzle.  The other way to work with Zazzle is as an affiliate.  You find designers or designs you like, you promote them, you receive a commission for each sale.  It's not a model we're pursuing at the moment because we have a library of our own designs to promote.  But it certainly is intriguing and it counts on  the same online marketing principals of success we must use to make our work successful.  We're certainly open to any affiliates that may wish to add our Zazzle store or product design to their promotions.  Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. Click Here...

You may have noticed we changed the name of this blog. In starting my outline I recognized the good sense to narrow the topic to our new efforts on Zazzle. It's our most recent endeavor and we're eager to know so much more about creating great designs folks want. We'll also consider a second blog to reinforce 240 Design West's commercial product offerings once other objectives are met for the development of that side of the business. It only took four or five random blog posts to figure out the need for refinement and where to go. Momentum always feels good. Welcome the Zazzle 240 blog. Click Here...

What next?

Kenneth Elmer - Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Maybe I've said this before... But possibly the most intimidating thing to an artist is a blank piece of paper.  Making that first step into the unknown always seems to be equally frightening as it is exciting.  Over time, at least in the literal sense, you learn to just start drawing or designing because you realize it is the momentum forward that counts, not the right idea or an exact science in your approach.  Invest in a good eraser and make friends with it.  Mistakes are good in development. Click Here...

Fancy Pants Zazzle Leggings Collection!

Kenneth Elmer - Monday, June 12, 2017

So by now you've probably heard that we started a studio store on Zazzle. Actually we started four stores. One for mutual art, one for me, one for Amy and one to serve the business community. Here's a collection from Amy's store (which will be launched if full shortly). Click Here...

Right Turn Clyde

Kenneth Elmer - Thursday, March 16, 2017

Tomorrow is my 50th birthday.  Left to my own devices I likely would not have made much ado.   But I share my adventures daily with a very special person who would hear nothing of this day passing un-celebrated.  In her usual remarkable way she asked me what I wanted.  So I told her.  Laid out my big complicated impractical desires with the hopes that she would just quietly commiserate and drop the subject.  She didn’t.  Instead, her answer was brilliant and simple.  It would suffice to say Amy inspires me.  None of this would be remotely possible without her. Click Here...

Field of Dreams

Kenneth Elmer - Friday, July 29, 2016

My older brother is a dry fellow with a formal education in communications. Or as he likes to say “I got college”.  On one particular occasion, after completing a series of work and complaining that no one seemed interested or buying, he very smugly said in a quiet voice “ooooh, your art, finally available.’  It took a few seconds, but I couldn’t stop laughing.  I know what he meant… We both know what we meant.  As a communications professional if I don’t get that joke I shouldn’t be in the business.  This isn’t the movie Fields of Dreams.  Just because you build it, doesn’t mean they will come.  You have to go out and market what you create… communicate about it, sell it.  It’s not necessarily easy, especially if you’re a small business. Click Here...

Who, What, Where, When, How and Why?

Kenneth Elmer - Monday, July 25, 2016

Yeah, that’s me at 9 years old with one of my very first creations. It would suffice to say I have been creating media for a while now. The personal computer hadn’t quite hit the scene yet and it was pretty difficult to create digital media on your Merlin. But off I went, raiding my mothers junk drawer for treasures I could paste together into a masterpiece fit for the Louvre. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained some skills since then. Depends on who you ask I guess. Art is subjective. Click Here...
